The International Immunocompromised Host Society (ICHS) has been in existence for over 25 years, and has an active membership of approximately 600 members; mainly practicing clinicians and researchers. ICHS has been holding international conferences on Infections in the Immunocompromised Host every other year, the last meeting was in 2006 was its 14th international conference. The next symposium will take place on 22-25 June 2008, in Thessaloniki Greece.

Recent initiatives within the society have included:

  • ICHS consultancy panels (advisory boards)
  • ICHS Learning Initiatives.  The first of these, the Mycology Initiative, was launched in 2001; module 3 was recently completed and is now available to members.  Modules 1 and 2 are available to anyone interested

As you know sponsors are able to choose which items they support at the biennial symposium, e.g.: conference bags, suites, lunches, satellites etc on a first-come-first-served basis.  ICHS plans for a new way of working to give our valued sponsors the opportunity to become Corporate Members of ICHS. Corporate Members will have priority choice for such items at future ICHS symposia; in addition we plan to meet with our Corporate Members in advance of well attended conferences such as ICAAC and ECCMID to discuss our activities and future plans.

Corporate Members will join with the ICHS general membership to promote all aspects of our work with the immunocompromised host.  Corporate Members will have fees to pay, just like general members.  Corporate Members will not have voting rights and cannot hold office, but they will enjoy a range of benefits depending on their level of commitment.

ICHS proposes two levels of Corporate Membership, to be paid on the years between the biennial symposium, i.e. 2007, 2009, 2011 etc.:
