As an affiliated society, ICHS was able to help support attendance, along with ESCMID, for participation in programs including ESCMID Global 2026. Cemre reported on her experience as follows:

"I was very happy to have the opportunity to represent ICHS at ESCMID Global 2026. One of the most enjoyable parts of the meeting was participating in the TAE mentoring event. The small-group format made it easy to meet trainees and early-career researchers from different countries and backgrounds. It also gave me the chance to introduce ICHS to colleagues who were interested in immunocompromised host infections and were not previously familiar with the society.

I was particularly pleased to see Prof. Murat Akova serving as one of the mentors during the event. As the recipient of the 2026 ESCMID Lifetime Achievement Award, he attracted a great deal of interest from trainees, and the discussions were inspiring.

I also attended the EPASG (ESCMID PK/PD of Anti-Infectives Study Group) meeting. Since my own research focuses on antimicrobial PK/PD in hematology patients, it was a valuable opportunity to meet colleagues working in similar areas and to learn more about ongoing activities within the group.

In addition, I presented three posters during ESCMID Global 2026. These presentations provided further opportunities to discuss my research with colleagues from different institutions, receive valuable feedback, and establish new scientific connections."
